The Association of Professional Dog Trainers (APDT)

The Association of Professional Dog Trainers
The Association of Professional Dog Trainers (APDT) is a professional organization of individual trainers who are committed to becoming better trainers through education. I would recommend looking at the practitioner directory when looking for a positive dog trainer. To learn more, go to www.apdt.com.
The APDT Trainer Search allows you to search for trainers in your area based on city, zip code, services offered and other criteria. To find a dog trainer in your area, go to www.apdt.com/trainer-search/.

American Kennel Club

American Kennel Club
You can learn all about the breed of your dog, what dog might be the best one for you, your family and lifestyle, along with a wealth of information about purebred dogs. To learn more, go to www.akc.org. To read about its history and all it does, go to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_Kennel_Club.

International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants (IAABC)

International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants
“The IAABC was founded in 2004, recognizing that the practice of assisting the public with companion animal behavior problems was a growing field that encompassed many different professionals: veterinarians, animal trainers, animal shelter employees, academics as well as practicing consultants who didn’t always fit neatly into one of the aforementioned categories.
“The goals of the IAABC were to standardize and support the practice of companion animal behavior consulting, while providing resources for pet owners needing advice. The organization is growing and currently has over 1,000 members throughout the world.”

DOWNLOAD FREE EXCERPT FROM MY “25 WAYS TO MAINTAIN A HAPPY AND HEALTHY DOG” E-BOOK

I invite you to download for free the first 10 ways from my “25 Ways to Maintain a Happy and Healthy Dog” e-book. I wrote this e-book to help guardians and pets develop deeper, more positive relationships, and to promote the health and well-being of so many beloved dogs. As guardians, we owe our dogs the best quality of lives we can offer them. As Maya Angelou once shared with Oprah Winfrey, “When we know better, we do better.” For more information about my e-book to help guardians and their dogs, click here.
