COVID-19 Wake-Up Call – Part 3

More Resources for You

The COVID-19 pandemic continues to unfold with almost all states initiating some partial openings. Many people are working from home and trying to stay as safe as possible by practicing physical distancing and wearing face masks. Others are in quarantine after getting sick or experiencing some kind of exposure. Some family members are taking care of relatives diagnosed with the virus.
Others have become ill. Some are still fighting for their lives in hospitals. Children are reported to be coming down with a variation of the virus. Some of them have been hospitalized. Others are fighting for their economic lives and are defying orders to stay at home. Some are suing their states for the right to open their businesses. While some are heading back to work, the numbers of fatalities continue to rise here in the United States.
And just recently, there have been reports of some states having numbers of sick and dying going down after reopening their areas. Those who claim to be experts are not sure if it’s because of physical distancing, masks, handwashing and frequent disinfecting of areas or if this is just the calm before another bigger and more severe storm in a few weeks.

Is this just the calm before another bigger and more severe storm? Photo by Aldon Scott Mc Leod from www.freeimages.com.

There are conflicting opinions and stories in the news about whether all is getting better or worse and whether to go back to work or to continue to stay home. It varies from state to state and from county to county within a state. People are not even sure whether it is the right thing to wear a mask or not. Some mandate it and others say it is just for the protection of others, and not for the one wearing the mask. Some even say that wearing a mask stresses out the body’s immune system even more.
As a backdrop to all the differing opinions and actions taken, many reporters are quoting some scientists who predict all may get much worse in the fall. For now, with so many still at home, worrying about finances and their future, I wanted to continue to provide positive resources you can read, watch and listen to.
With so many parents doing home-schooling and trying to entertain their children and stay sane, I wanted to provide resources that could provide some insights and a respite from all the COVID-19 noise that now fills our world. I hope those of you who land on this and my other blog post pages enjoy what you see and hear as we continue on together in these most unusual and challenging times.

Resources for You

Resource No. 1: Seaside Center for Spiritual Living

This spiritual center has so much to offer. Based in Encinitas, CA, one block from the ocean, it boasts a large and loyal congregation that fills its big space every Sunday. Luckily, before the pandemic struck, the center was already broadcasting its Sunday services live on Facebook and via Livestream at 11 a.m.
My husband Sharbel and I attended two of their services in the past. We plan to become members in the future. The head of this center, Rev. Christian Sorenson, was born to do this ministerial work. An expert and eloquent speaker, he is passionate about his connection with Source and loves nothing more than to uplift the hearts of those he serves and help them feel a strong connection to Spirit and their own passion.
Each service features the music of a fabulous and very soulful jazz band. Added to the musical mix is a professional singer, Rebecca Jade, who could easily I think try out for “The Voice” and get in. She selects lovely songs that complement the theme of the Reverend’s message and sings them quite beautifully.
Then there are also many dedicated ministers who share messages of comfort and love and are now volunteering their time to prayer sessions and free online Zoom meetings to help others.
I was watching some recent Sunday livestreams when Rev. Christian was talking about the pandemic and weaving his messages of hope and faith in while going through a number of important messages within the movie, “The Wizard of Oz. ” Using Jean Houston’s book, “The Wizard of Us: Transformational Lessons from Oz” as a template, he went through the movie, character by character, for several weeks. Dorothy, the Scarecrow, the Tin Man, the Lion and the Wicked Witch of the West each received a thematic analysis and each came with an important message for the congregation. Rebecca Jade and the band played songs from the both the movie and Broadway show that enhanced each message and theme of the services.
I felt so uplifted and wanted to acknowledge my gratitude for the wonderful weekly sermons that I not only sent a donation, but wrote an email of gratitude to Rev. Christian who clearly pours his heart and soul into every service. I love to see when someone is so clearly in his “Vein of Gold,” as Julia Cameron shared in her book of that name. It means that this is his dharma. This is what he was born to do. He does it with ease, passion and grace. Words flow so effortlessly from him and his enthusiasm is just part of his constitution. It is who he is.
During his Mother’s Day sermon, a week after I sent my email, he said something that made so much sense to me. He shared about his love for his mother who was a psychologist. He grew up watching her help others with kindness and compassion. She was his role model.
In addition, he talked about how, at a very early age, he felt a calling to help others and share wisdom. He said he became a minister at the age of 19 and has been doing his work for more than 30 years. In hearing that, it made such perfect sense to see why he was so good at what he does and how he came to create such a wonderful spiritual center.

Rev. Christian Sorenson from www.seasidecenter.org.

Here is what I wrote to him in my email:
 Dear Rev. Christian,
You have created an amazing spiritual Center. My husband Sharbel and I have visited your Center only twice before. We had intentions of becoming new members, but were not able to make it on the days specified to do so.
Recently, I have been taking advantage of your livestream broadcasts. I love your energy and your heart. I also adore how well read you are and how you pull in information from so many sources. As a former English major with a Master’s degree in English earned during work in a Ph.D. program, I especially appreciate your references to poets and authors.
You have been doing an amazing job with your creative “Wizard of Us” sermons. You are a wonderful speaker and I love both the passion and intellect that you bring when you share your message.
Seaside is so blessed to have the wonderful Rebecca Jade singing so beautifully from her heart. Her voice is a gift to the world!
I also appreciate your beautiful poetic messages in the emails you send out every week. They are works of art. You should think about putting them all together in a book and publish them. I am sure the congregation and others would love that!
May God and the angels bless you, your family, staff, congregation and all your beloved friends and family. When you see Seaside’s beautiful space, the number of people who show up for Sunday services, the great band and its soulful music, the professional performances of Rebecca Jade and others, the technical staff that helps with audio, video and Facebook livestreams, the devoted ministers who give selflessly of their time, and all the groups that have formed, I see you and your amazing heart at the center of all this. I am sure long ago you set an extraordinary intention to manifest all that we are now privileged to see and experience at the Center. I am so grateful for your dynamic energy, strength, intellect, courage and sense of humor.
More than ever, we desperately need men and women of letters who are well read and who have courage, vision and a great depth of spirit. Thank you Rev. Christian and all of you who are making such an important difference in the lives of those you serve. May you and the Seaside Center come out on the other side of this COVID-19 crisis even stronger than before and become an even brighter light in the world. And so it is. Amen!
With love and so much gratitude,
Rev. Donna El Haber
I encourage you to either attend some live services via Facebook Live or via Livestream on Sunday at 11 a.m. Pacific Standard Time (PST) or check out the many wonderful archived services. I think you will have a wonderful time listening to the “Wizard of Oz” services. Here is the link to the Center’s website: www.seasidecenter.org.  It’s lovely to know that you can be part of a wonderful spiritual group at any time of day and hear messages that can speak to your soul with just a click of your mouse. You can click here to access the archived services.
Rev. Christian’s service on Sunday, May 17, centered around the content within Michael A. Singer’s best-selling book, The Untethered Soul: The Journey Beyond Yourself. His service is called: “Awakening Consciousness: I Hear the Communication of My Higher Self.” If you access the archives or take advantage of the many online offerings, such as Zoom meeting groups or counselors who can pray with you, I encourage you to make a donation from your heart.

Resource No. 2: Dr. Paul Herscu and the New England School of Homeopathy

Dr. Paul Herscu is both a certified naturopathic doctor and classical homeopath. He and his wife, Dr. Amy Rothenberg, have a private practice in Enfield, CT, and recently opened another office in Amherst, MA.
He has been teaching homeopathy since 1986 and is an internationally sought-after public speaker in both the United States and abroad in Europe.
His biography page on his website https://nesh.com/historyinformation/dr-paul-herscu-biography/ notes: “His keen mind and dynamic teaching style have won him followers the world over. An original thinker who reads and studies across many disciplines, Dr. Herscu is able to synthesize and explain information while putting emphasis on the history and philosophy of medicine. He aims to make the study and practice of homeopathy more logical and predictable, with the goal of helping more patients in the practice setting.”
I have had the privilege of taking classes with Dr. Herscu and his also brilliant wife Dr. Amy Rothenberg. They complement each other wonderfully with his quiet, laid-back style and her more energetic and animated personality. A brilliant classical homeopath who is the author of several books, he can tackle very extreme cases from people in comas to children with severe mental, physical and emotional issues. He loves solving problems and does so with an extraordinary intellect and a kind and compassionate heart.
He is also an expert on both epidemics and pandemics. He has been keeping all his students, colleagues, homeopaths and doctors around the world up to date on the latest findings and research on this COVID-19 pandemic. You can sign up to receive future updates and check out all his archives at http://paulherscuepidemics.blogspot.com/. To check out his April 13, 2020 update, click here at http://paulherscuepidemics.blogspot.com/2020/04/2019-novel-coronavirus-covid-19-part-xii.html#more. In the beginning of that post, he writes:

Dr. Paul Herscu, ND, MPH – Photo from www.msnd.org

“It has been a very long road, my friends, these past three and a half months. A lot has happened, and really, it has been a confusing period of time for many of us. In this Update, I focus on our natural medicine efforts over these months, on why I have urged us all to take these actions and then share my thoughts and hypothesis on why some people fall severely ill.
“My main focus over the three and a half months has been, and will remain, on keeping people out of the hospital. I explain why below. Our first goal has been to keep people from developing the illness to start with. However if they do develop COVID-19, the goal has been to keep it the mildest version possible. Towards that end, the two main tools we use are natural therapies, mentioned in Update 7 and homeopathy described in Update 8. The idea is to have people react/adapt to the virus, move through the illness without becoming severely ill, and then move on with their lives. And if we do our job well, and the stars align, that is how it plays out.”
I will devote a separate blog post to Dr. Herscu’s work in helping patients heal from COVID-19 and get through the ordeal without needing either hospitalization or intensive care. I have taken two seminars with him on classical homeopathy and how it can help patients diagnosed with COVID-19. One was offered only to his former students. The second one was open to the public. I will offer the link to that seminar in my next post.
I want to say that I am honored to have been one of Dr. Herscu’s students even though I am not a practicing homeopath. I love, admire and respect this extraordinary healing method. I have seen how it can magically break through paradigms of illness and help patients physically, mentally, emotionally and even spiritually in ways that traditional medicine is unable to do.
I will also be sharing in my future post Dr. Herscu’s emphasis on the importance of prescribing the right homeopathic remedy, especially for patients who become critically ill. He maintains it is very important to select the right remedy for those in life-threatening circumstances because it can be the life saver patients need to help pull them back from the brink of possible fatality and set them back on the road to recovery.
Dr. Herscu has even developed a software tool for homeopathic and naturopathic doctors consisting of a series of questions to ask patients. Each of those questions has multiple choice answers patients can select to help doctors, homeopaths and others find the right remedy.
Homeopathy is, of course, very important for all patients, so the ones who have milder cases never progress to a critical state.
Dr. Herscu and Dr. Rothenberg both consult with patients around the world via Skype. I would highly recommend scheduling an appointment with either one of them if you become sick with COVID-19, especially if your symptoms are getting significantly worse and traditional medical interventions are not helping you feel better.
I would also recommend consulting with them for any medical condition you need help with. They are both homeopathic and naturopathic doctors who can suggest many different holistic options to help your vital force return to health. On their website, they also have a list of homeopathic practitioners they have trained. You can check out the list here to see if there are any practitioners who live near you.

Resource No. 3: Arsha Bodha Ashram – Meditations and Services

When I lived in NJ, I would sometimes attend beautiful services at the Arsha Bodha Center in Somerset. A traditional ashram established in 2000 by Swami Tadatmananda, a disciple of Pujya Swami Dayananda, he teaches the wisdom (bodha) of the sages of ancient India (arsha). Set on a lovely piece of bucolic land, the Center is a beautiful sanctuary for Hindu prayers, services and celebrations and for all the classes taught there.

Swami Tatatananda is a former computer engineer. Here is some of what is shared about him on the website (www.arshabodha.org):
“Swami Tadatmananda is a scholar of Sanskrit. His background allows him to draw upon contemporary scientific and psychological insights while unfolding sacred Sanskrit scriptures. He thus endows the spiritual teachings of ancient India with great relevance and clarity. He has authored several books and CDs including “Roar of the Ganges” and “Meditation: A Journey of Discovery.” To learn more about Swami Tatatananda and Vasanthi, go to https://arshabodha.org/about-us/teachers/.
He provides links to two talks about COVID-19 on the Center’s home page. Another link to a video on the home page is about love and compassion:

Her second book, Active Consciousness: Awakening the Power Within, explores the human consciousness, drawing on her wide range of interests from paranormal phenomena and esoteric systems of thought to alternative medicine, meditation studies, and artificial intelligence. Lansky has been called an “intuitive scholar.”
On her website, www.amylansky.com, it says:
“She graduated from the University of Rochester in 1977 with degrees in mathematics and computer science, and she received her doctorate in computer science from Stanford University in 1983. She did research work on artificial intelligence at several Silicon Valley institutions, including SRI International and NASA Ames Research Center, until she left the field in 1998 to pursue her interest in homeopathic medicine. This unusual move was prompted by the miraculous cure of her son’s autism with homeopathy. Since 2005, Lansky has been a student of Gary Sherman and Ellen Miller, the creators of a system of self-development and inquiry called perceptual integration.”
Based in San Francisco, Amy Lansky is regarded internationally as an expert writer and speaker on homeopathy for general audiences. A singer and musician as well, she has written extensively on consciousness, synchronicity, and spirituality. For more information about Amy, you can check out her vita here. Donna and Sharbel at HPA 2017

My husband Sharbel and I were enjoying a break at Brendon’s High Performance Academy event in San Diego. We are wearing our “Bring the Joy” name tags. During this very challenging time, we all need to try, whenever we can, to bring the joy! Brendon talks about generating that joy and energy from within.

Brendon also offers an array of free material. He content is especially targeted for entrepreneurs. But his positive messages about hope, joy, presence and courage are meant for everyone. His famous three questions he asks those who take his classes and attend his events came to him following the trauma of a very bad car accident he survived when he was only 19. They are: “Did you live? Did you love? And did you matter?” His whole life purpose is to get others to ask themselves these questions.  When they do, there should be a resounding “YES!” Through his books, classes, events, interviews, podcasts, coaching program, motivational quotes and so much more, his intention is to help others learn to live their best lives and become successful entrepreneurs.
When the COVID-19 pandemic hit, he posted a series of podcasts to help others rebound and thrive:

How I’m Thinking through This Crisis

How to Deal with Stressful Situations, Proactively!

I’m Overwhelmed

The Power of Presence and Positivity

Brendon also came out with a series of podcasts about striving in chaos. Here are the links:
He also offered 10 masterclass podcasts on wellness. Here are the links:
And here are his two podcasts specifically on the COVID-19 crisis:
Thank you Brendon for sharing so much great content with the world. You are a remarkable and extraordinary light who brings so much energy, joy and high performance to all you do. Resource No. 8: Mind Movies – Natalie and Glen Ledwell

Mind Movies first began when a factory worker in Sydney, Australia, decided to make a simple 3-minute slideshow style video of the kind of life he desired. He made it and uploaded it on YouTube. After going viral, people from all over the world began asking him to make movies for them too.
When he told two of his friends, Natalie and Glen Ledwell about what had happened, together they decided to create MindMovies.com. MindMovies.com would offer a way for people to create a digital vision board of their future.
Their idea was a great success, with people around the world using this software to create movies of their amazing future lives. According to the Ledwells, “The Mind Movies philosophy is to change the world one person at a time by helping people to identify what they want and enabling them to manifest it into their existence.” Click here to learn more about Natalie and Glen Ledwell and their history.

You are the writer and director of your own movie and you are also the star. Photo by Jay Lopez from www.freeimages.com.

Natalie Ledwell, co-creator of www.mindmovies.com

Glen Ledwell, co-creator of www.mindmovies.com

At a time when people have been asked to stay home and take a big pause from the lives they previously knew, it is a great time for them to assess where they have been and where they would like to go. It might be a time for dreaming of what they would like their future to be. This pause can be a great blessing when people begin to step out of their habitual ways of going through their days and become more mindful of all they are experiencing and what they want to manifest in the future.
To help you move forward to realize the dreams you have been harboring in your heart, you can use a simple tool to create a positive movie that can have magnificent pictures, accompanied by affirmations and music.
My husband and I learned about making mind movies through Dr. Joe Dispenza who partnered with Natalie and Glen Ledwell. All those many attendees who sign up for Dr. Joe’s weeklong retreat are asked to create their own personal mind movies before attending the event. The movies are used on several of the days, along with a kaleidoscopic meditation.
Rather than having your subconscious hypnotized by slick advertising, your subconscious can be mesmerized by your own dreams of your fabulous future. Whether you want lots of money and financial independence, a profitable business, travel around the world, love and marriage, weight loss, health and physical fitness, it’s yours to select. You are the writer and director of your own movie and you are also the star.
My husband and I created a joint mind movie because we want to create a business together and we both want to be focused daily on our joint goals. He created the basic script and I expanded it greatly. Then I chose all the pictures to go with our words and added music to it.
So far after many viewings, we haven’t gotten bored and still enjoy watching it. Dr. Joe shared that everyone who creates one of these mind movies can’t wait to show it to others. That’s how I felt at his event. I did a rush job on the first version and couldn’t wait to refine and add to it when I got home.

This is one of the lovely photos in our mind movie. This picture is about helping others with our love, faith and wisdom. Photo by Joe Mendez.

I recommend that you register to make your own mind movie and begin to fall in love with your new future. So many things have manifested since we started watching the movie. We wanted to be together more. With my husband working at home following the pandemic, that was a dream come true. We also shared in the movie that we wanted to walk our dog together every day and now that’s a reality too.
If you are struggling in any way because of all you have been through since this pandemic hit, you can think about having an angel counseling and healing session. You can also check out my various single sessions and see which one might best help you. Click here to see these single sessions.
May you rise above the fray of this storm and find your quiet center where there is so much hope, healing and wisdom. May Phanuel, the Angel of Hope, open your heart to all the good that lies ahead for you. May Jophiel, the Angel of Creativity, help you design your new amazing future. May Ananchel, the Angel of Grace, and Fortunata, the Angel of Prosperity, shower you and your family with so much grace and prosperity.
Stay safe and well and share your love with others.
With love, healing, miracles, grace and so much joy,
Rev. Donna
